Target group of the program

Our program is open to families or individuals in need who were granted refugee or subsidiary protection status by the Hungarian authorities, who plan to stay in Hungary and have problems finding housing.

People may have obtained refugee status because they were persecuted in their country of origin due to racial, religious, political and nationality reasons or because they belong to a repressed social group.

Subsidiary protection status may be given to those who cannot be classed as refugee but whom the Hungarian authorities consider would come to serious harm if they would return to their country of origin.

Hungary provides asylum for these people, a status which entitles them to stay in Hungary and protects them against forced return, expulsion and extradition. Our housing program helps these people to start a new and live an independent life.
